Shopping For A Wedding Gift Together

Sunday, August 8th, 2010

There was a long list of gifts to choose from. The bride and groom had put down everything they wanted so no duplicate gifts would be given to them. The girls looked it over. There was a lamp that was attractive, but a little too expensive they thought. There were silver candlesticks but the price on them was too high as well.

They focused in on a set of plates with pictures of pizza on them. They agreed they didn’t want to select those. The gourmet pots and pans were excellent, but they agreed they could only afford one frying pan. Then they looked at sheet sets and towels. They thought that was less than they wanted to spend. They spotted a set of knives and thought about how much the bride-to-be loved to cook.

Her friend replied laughingly that she could just as easily bang him over the head with one of the gourmet frying pans. On a serious note, she studied a wusthof knife set. It was very attractive and would make a great addition to the kitchen of any gourmet chef.

They reminisced about the last meal she had cooked for them. It was beef roast with fresh carrots and new potatoes. Of course they had helped chop them up for their friend. Let’s consider the knives they agreed.

There was another set, a henckels knife set that caught their eye. They examined it and several others but had a hard time choosing which one to order. They went over to shop for dresses while they thought it over. They would return in about an hour.

They spent an hour in the dress department, trying on a bunch of garments. They were pleased with three of them, but each bought only one. These are pretty sexy, they mused. They agreed to wear a shrug if they wore them to church or the kid’s school.

What will our bridesmaid dresses look like, they wondered. They already hated the color, pink. Both girls played soccer and tennis and were not girly-girls. Pink would have been their last choice. They agreed the bride knew them well enough to avoid dressing them in pink. Now they had to buy pink shoes too. Yikes!

They walked over to the sales desk and asked if they could take white shoes and dye them to match the exact color of the bridesmaid dresses. After that, back they went to the wish list of wedding gifts their friend had selected. It only took them five minutes to check the price and warranty, and order the kitchen knife set, purchase it and cross it off the wish list. They agreed that it was an attractive and useful gift.

A Shopping Outing With Your Daughter

Wednesday, June 30th, 2010

Today is the day you have been waiting for! You will be taking your eldest daughter Janine shopping. She recently got married and this is the first time since then that you and your daughter have been able to get together. You can hardly wait to having some quality time with your eldest.

After stopping to get a juice drink to start off your morning, you head out. You remember that your son-in-law needs a new cordless handheld vacuum. Your daughter had told you his was broke and needed replacement, so you remind her of that as you begin your day.

You begin to pass by your favorite clothing store and decide to stop and see how the sales are today. Neither of you are really looking for any clothing, but you never know when you might find a good sale. After looking through the various sales racks you both decide to move on. There was really nothing there that either you or your daughter were interested in today.

The beauty on the next window stops the two of you from moving on. There you see rings for the bride to be that would make any bride happy. In the next case are the wedding bands for men. You are not looking for jewelry, nor is Janine but like the people passing by, you just had to stop to admire the magnificence of the rings being displayed.

At the next store memories are invoked by what is in the showcase. Camping gear is laid out in an array to make any camper wish they were at the campground. Your family goes camping every year and you speak with Janine about plans for this summer. You both set up tentative plans for an outing for the four of you next month. Hopefully everyone will be able to set the date into his or her respective schedules.

The next store is the dream store of every cook. No matter what you are looking for to go in the kitchen, you will find it here. You need a new roasting pan with lid. The color of the new one will go with your kitchen better than the one you are using now. Besides the lid is warped and no longer seals properly. Janine decides to also purchase one for her kitchen.

You decide to pick up the item Janine needs for her husband and then go to lunch. It has been a long morning walking through the mall, but you have accomplished much. Plus it gave the you and your daughter time to catch up. You realize that you are hungry and you look forward to sitting down for lunch.
