Being able to multi-task is a quality most employers look for, as a freelancer you learn how to master it. You have to be all things for your business at once. You may even be losing sleep over the fact that you have to get so many things done. When you do wake up in the morning, you probably rush to your home office with no time for anything else. If this sounds familiar, you’re probably doing less as opposed to doing more. Read on to find out how this is possible.
Your first step to a more productive day is waking up refreshed. This means you have to get a good night’s rest. When your alarm clock starts ringing only a few hours after you’ve finally fallen asleep, you’re probably not well rested. On the other hand, getting to sleep early giving you enough time to rest will help you wake up well-rested and energetic.
Granted, getting a good night’s sleep may sound easy, but it really does take discipline. You may be tempted to work through the night, sacrificing your rest. However, you should be forewarned that this will hinder your productivity.
Eventually, when you do wake up you want to spend some of your time doing something that takes discipline. This may mean you go jogging, or every getting on your mongoose mountain bike for a brisk ride. Getting something done that requires discipline will be your silent cheer leader throughout the day. You got through that, you can get through anything.
Once you’ve conquered any single on of your diamondback bikes, you can now turn your attention to your breakfast. You’ll need a healthy breakfast to carry you through your day. Think of your breakfast as the fuel that will carry you through to lunch.
Knowing exactly what you have to do before you sit down to work will help you get your tasks done more effectively. This means creating a must-get-done list. Maybe you need to write an article, edit a proposal, or act on your tattoo fever? Whatever it may be, writing it done and working your way through the list will be helpful.
Once you’ve taken these important steps, its now time to settle into your work mentality. This may mean getting dressed for work, going into your work space and placing a do not disturb sign on the door of your work space. Get into the work zone with no distractions is an ultimate productivity booster.
