May be you have felt that your life is one big roller coaster ride in which, whichever way you turn the ride gets faster and faster.
Your boss maybe demanding asking more and more from you, your partner may complain of you being workaholic and have no time for her or your children, your elderly mother may be relying on you to keep her company and manage her affairs as she had a fall recently. At the end of the day it’s all so overwhelming and you are unsure about what to do, who to turn to or how to relieve the stress and get some peace back in your life
After teaching yoga to concerned and stressed out students, I’ve observed that the majority of individuals are so concerned over meeting the demands of others, that they live life on overdrive.
Odds are that if you can identify with even one of the five symptoms we will discuss here, you’re probably already overstressed, worried and taking on too much emotional baggage.
These are some ways to know it’s time for a vacation. You’ve always got aches, pains, and headaches. You simply can not focus while working and end up putting in overtime. You bring the work back to your house and having feelings of resentment about the effect it has on the relationships that you’ve got. Most of the times, you are exhausted and worn out. It takes two times the amount of time to get out of bed, put your feet on the floor and start your day. It seems like your reason for being is gone. You may become snappy and ratty with your family and at work you become moody and irritable with your colleagues. Your heart rate is greater than usual. You may find that you frequently have held your breath unknowingly and caused an increase your blood pressure.
If this sounds familiar to you, what can you do to calm the overwhelming worry that keeps running through your head. What may one do to lessen the stress and continual demands that are being put on you? What can one do to manage and lessen stress?
Take a vacation and relax.
All of us require rest, relaxation and some peace of mind. How long ago was it that you took time off, or a holiday? A vacation can sometimes be stressful, especially if have to juggle the demands of your wife and children.
Nevertheless, some days apart from the typical everyday routine does a lot to recharge and replenish your energy. While you’re on vacation, try to take in as much fresh air as you can, go on lots of walks, eat right and drink plenty of water. Use the location to lie down, go to sleep earlier, read a book, do crossword puzzles, or any activity which gets your mind off the problems back home. Getting away for a few days can provide a new perspective, and even though the problem will still be waiting for you at home, the time away can help you figure out how to manage your troubles.
Continually being exposed to stress and not relaxing and resting may result in irreparable health issues, such as high blood pressure, failed relationships, diabetes, etc., and lack of energy are typical effects of being overworked and stressed.
Book a short vacation for a few days if you need to relax because life is getting you down, are overworked, worried or tired and low. Take a break from your routine and normal surroundings, to cheer yourself up and get new energy.
